Mary and Craig Bircher combine the beauty and serenity of the harp with the regal sound of the trumpet. This unique and compelling collaboration allows both musicians to highlight his or her individual creative talents, while forming a precise and vibrant ensemble.
Omaha Symphony musicians since 1981, Mary and Craig also perform with the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra and Opera Omaha. Individually and together, they maintain active schedules as freelance performers throughout the Midwest. Recent performances include appearances at Omaha's historic Joslyn Castle, on the Concerts at the Castle series, as well as a performance at the beautiful Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical Center.
Always eager to explore new avenues of music-making, Mary and Craig have recently joined with acoustic bassist Mark Luebbe to form a jazz trio, performing a wide variety of jazz standards with a distinctly Latin flair.
Mary and Craig are both classically trained musicians and have been members of the Omaha Symphony since 1981. As members of the orchestra they also perform with the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra and Opera Omaha. Besides their musical activities, the Birchers are the proud parents of two children.
